The main functions of an accumulator are as follows:
1、 Energy storage
Energy storage devices are widely used in auxiliary energy. On the one hand, it stores hydraulic oil intermittently output by the pump, and on the other hand, it releases fluid with intermittent load greater than the pump flow rate. Therefore, with the use of energy storage devices, pumps and other energy sources can achieve miniaturization and energy savings.

2、 Absorb (eliminate) pulsation
The accumulator can absorb the pulsation generated by the pressure fluid discharged by various pumps, so that the hydraulic pipeline is not affected by pressure, noise, vibration, etc.

3、 Absorb (mitigate) impact
In hydraulic circuits, due to rapid switching or sudden changes in load, shock pressure occurs in the pipeline, causing noise, pipeline damage, and other reasons. Accumulators are installed to absorb (mitigate) the shock.

4、 Compensate for leakage
In pressure control circuits and pressure maintenance conditions, pressure reduction is caused to compensate for internal and external leaks. Use an accumulator to maintain a constant pressure.

5、 Compensation volume
In a closed circuit, the volume of the liquid changes due to temperature changes, and the internal pressure rises or falls. Installing an accumulator can reduce pressure fluctuations.
So as to protect valves, gaskets, pressure gauges, etc. from malfunctions.
6、 Absorb vibration
The mechanical vibration of the hydraulic system is absorbed by the accumulator, and the gas inside the accumulator acts as a spring, which can attenuate the impact and vibration of vehicles such as cars.

7、 Balance function
Accumulators can be used as balancers to smoothly balance the weight and impact of products and machinery using the gas pressure of the accumulator.

8、 Fluid separator
Accumulators generally separate two media (nitrogen and oil for hydraulic purposes). However, when pressure transfer between two immiscible liquids is necessary, an accumulator can also be used.
